Recent Sony HDTV Discussions:
Is the company Hannspree any good?
in particular there Flat Panel, LCD HDTVs. I've seen the brand name before, but how do they stack up against the more well known companies like Samsung, Sony, LG and the like. Equally as good, better or inferior. I currently have a Samsung HDTV, looking to get a bigger one in the next 2 weeks, either a 37" or 40".

So i use a sony 3D display as my monitor and its specifications are 240hz refresh rate, but my nvidia control panel says its set to 60hz... and cant get higher?
someone i work with told me the tv turns the 60hz into 240hz (he didnt go into detail but he does sell tv's and therefore knows something about them) but i was curious because my second monitor shows its set at 75hz and i thought it was weird an old outdated monitor shows more then my new hdtv

Cheapest Home Theater System?
I have an old Sony STR-D511 analog receiver. And then I have an Aiwa stereo with 3 speakers (the speakers have about 150W, with really good subs. But they require an Aiwa system to play audio (but bass still works on every system with the standard speaker wire plugged in. The Aiwa speakers have a special blue cord on the back. I would like everything to be HD, because I have a blu ray player and xbox 360, HDTV that I will be hooking up to it. I bought a TV around 2005 and I bought a home theater system with it. I recall it being about $50 but I'm not sure. Can I get a home theater system for $50 or less? Please respond thank you.
Can anyone recommend some surround sound speakers that I can plug into my Sony STR-D511 receiver? Post links please
PS3 HDTV Quality Question?
Ok, so I got a 32" HD TV for christmas, the model is Hannspree SV32LMNB 32" and it's a great Tv, now getting to my question, I play my Ps3 on it and I use a HDMI cable that goes directly from the Ps3 to the HDMI port in the back of the tv, and I was wondering, sometimes the picture on whatever game I am playing is, well, rugged, or bumpy.. I can't think of a more precise word but it's not smooth picture, I am not sure if that is just how it is supposed to be or my HDMI cable is not good, it isn't the Sony HDMI cable it is just a HDMI cable for Ps3 I picked up from amazon, it's not a genuine Sony cable so it might just be a fake, for lack of a better term. And also, the TV is Full HD, 1080p/i. And I have another question, when I watch a dvd in hd or something, it seems like the picture is too real and fluent, but in my other room, I have a HDTV and it isn't like that. Please help :D
Sony vs. Samsung 3D TV?
I'm looking for the best 3D TV and I'm not sure which brand (Sony or Samsung) is better in this aspect. But, I also want the TV to have great picture quality, a sharp, clear image, and have LED/LCD.
Here are the two that I am looking at:

and

I don't see much of a difference between the two TV's. and I don't know much about television buying either. Any advice/help given would be great!
To clarify, I'll mostly be using this as a 2d TV. So, I would also like to know how the two TVs compare in that aspect as well.
Which one is better? Onkyo HT-S3400 or SONY HT-SS380?
I am planning to buy a 5.1 Channel home theatre for my small living room. I can't decide which one to buy. If anybody has any expertise on these sound systems please help me. I am looking for something that sounds very good and not very expensive. Reason why I am looking for one of these two is that they both are 3D compatible. I have a 40-inch Samsung HDTV and Samsung blu-ray player with 5.1 digital audio out. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
