Converting videos to edit and convert to a common format?
I am not very technologically savant, but I have (at most) 20 dvds of some now extinct TV shows and family videos transferred from VHS to DVD using a DVD/VHS recorder (Toshiba). A relative has suggested that I convert these to a more common format so that they will still be playable 5 years from now. The current format (Video_RM & Video_TS) plays on all but one player. I would prefer freeware since this is a rather limited use.
FYI- nope, no commercial DVDs (or VHS tapes) exist for this show.
Toshiba satellite C660D-19X problem?
My laptop will only work with the ac charger plugged in or with the battery out. When i take the lead out, the computer just shuts down. What should i do? get a new battery?

altho the Intel(r)HDgraphicsfamily is the first one listed, it says that both are running properly without interferance. When i disable that one and leave NVIDIA on, it just blacks out my screen. until i fix it on the guest account. i am on a laptop.

Why has my HD Toshiba TV been producing a ringing sound?
I have a HD LCD Toshiba Television in my bedroom and lately I've been hearing a very annoying high pitched ringing sound. The sound appears only when the volume is on, but won't get any higher the more you put the volume up. So for example, having the volume at 1 and 100 won't make a difference and the ringing will be heard at the same volume. Although if the volume is at 0 the ringing won't be heard at all.
The only time I can't hear any ringing is when there is audio playing (from my games, as I don't use the TV for watching stuff), and when audio is playing it doesn't just become harder to notice the ringing. Rather, the ringing disappears completely. I only use my TV for gaming btw, and the ringing generally disappears when there is sound as to what I'm playing. And I know it's nothing to do with my PS3 as the ringing will appear even when it's not plugged in and on a blank station. I've tried multiple sources, but it won't help. It's very faint mind you, but irritating, and considering it disappears when there is sound to what I'm playing I'm guessing it is probably something that can be fixed.
Also, I only wear headphones, but it's nothing to do with the headphones.
Does anyone know what it might be?
