Recent Vizio HDTV Discussions:

how to change PS3 to 1080i setting with component instead of composite?

I just bought a 55 inch mitsubishi big screen projection tv for $100 bucks, its a nice TV but doesnt have HDMI , i had a 32 inch vizio thats 1080p and worked great but i wanted a bigger screen. I went and bought a component AV cable cause with the red blue and green video cables(Y PR PB) and trying to get it to work but the PS3 slim doesnt seem to want to change from the composite video with the yellow video cable... the TV says its an HDTV that supports 1080i but it doesnt want to switch in display settings.. Can anyone tell me the proper way to do this step by step if it is even possible thankyou

My Vizio LCD tv still has a grainy picture no matter what i do to the settings.. help?

I am using an HDMI cable and whether im watching a bluray on my ps3 or watching hdtv, it still looks slightly grainy.

What are best picture settings for my Vizio E421VO LCD HDTV?

i've messed around with the settings, but i still cannot get the HD tv and the Blu-Ray to look that good... also, i cannot seem to unlock the Backlight on any of the picture settings.. any help would be appreciated :)

Why doesn't my HDTV get HD Channels?

I have a magnavox HDTV that I got a couple years ago. I live on campus and i brought it to my dorm. My roommate has a Vizio HDTV. We get basic cable through the cable on the wall. We bought a splitter a so we could both watch our own things. He gets regular and HD Channels (the channels are like 4 and then the HD one is 4.1) but I don't get HD channels. I only get the regular channels (the channel will only be 4 and there will not be a 4.1). I tried plugging it directly into the cable, but still no HD channels. I don't understand why it wouldn't get HD channels if its an HDTV. Anyone know why this could be?

I have a VIZIO VO37L HDTV 37" LCD HDTV and need a HDMI Cable. Is there a particular one I should get?

i noticed there are 18pin , 19pin, 1.4 ,1.3 and different metals???

Windows screen shut off during a game, upon restart was green and fuzzy?

I posted this on techguys.org as well but no answers yet so I'm turning to the YA! community for advice. I was in the middle of playing skyrim when the screen went black, and came up with a message "not support" which only happens when the computer goes to sleep. I rebooted and the screen turned green and fuzzy, when trying to start windows normally, right after the windows boot logo (which can't be recognized but the text can) the screen goes black and doesn't go any further. My b/f thought it *might* be just the new graphics card he had installed 3 days ago, so I removed it. No change. I tried to start up in safe mode (loaded completely to the desktop), and that worked but everything is still green and fuzzy. After about 2 minutes in safe mode, the screen will cut to black for a few seconds, come back to the desktop, back and forth. My next thought was heat, everything is running perfect and nothing is hot. This computer was upgraded last week; Windows 7 Ultimate, the ram, motherboard, and graphics card are brand new. Processor is a year old, and the power supply is roughly 2 years (I'm not completely sure). All parts were bought from newegg. There is no POST coding (beeps) so there doesn't seem to be loading problems. Maybe CPU problems? Or power supply? But I would figure it wouldn't start at all on safe mode, if the processor was out, or can it slowly go out? I've never came across a problem like this, there have been times the green fuzzy screen would happen at the very beginning of starting up, but would clear up within 2 seconds. Any ideas? I've already been looking at new processors if that's the problem. Hardware specifications: Windows 7 ultimate AMD athlon II x4 CPU (1 year old) Asus M4A88TD-V EVO motherboard, integrated with video/audio card (new) 2- 4gb sticks of ram (new) Antec 500w power supply (2 years old) HIS Radeon HD 6750 (new but removed) Monitor- 46" Vizio HDTV The only thing I know it's NOT, is the HDMI cables and TV Ozzy-You OBVIOUSLY didn't read. The TV is FINE along with the HDMI cables (they WERE tested with 2 monitors), The hardware in the computer is almost BRAND NEW, I'm not going to throw out $400 that was just spent a WEEK ago. The ONLY thing that is older is the power supply and CPU, which I am prepared to replace. Everything else is still under warranty. The new motherboard has an integrated video card already in it, The newer one was just an extra to push the quality of gaming. I took it out to see if graphics were the problem, if it was it should have cleared up. It didn't. The CPU wasn't hot, but it also wasn't cool. Everything seems to be functioning Ok internally, it even stays running when the screen cuts out. Maybe it's the integrated video card? That would completely suck since it's less then a week old, and if that's not the problem when I send it back, I have to pay for S&H

Vizio LCD HDTV Vertical Screen Position Help?

Hello im trying to watch a subtitled movie (girl with dragon tattoo) but ive noticed only the top of the second line of dialogue can be seen... So obviously their something wrong with the vertical screen res... is their anyway to reduce the vertical? I went into menu/picture/more/size&position and it looks like this Horiz. Position 0 Vertical Position 0 Horizontal Size 0 Vertical Size 0 Is their anything I can do to reduce the screen size even more? I really dont know much about tvs so I dont know if im using the right terminology for everything but I hope I got my point across. Its really annoying and makes watching subtitled movies almost impossible :(

Hauppauge HD-PVR "No Signal" help?

I've been looking around and it seems a lot of people have the same problem. I recently bought a Hauppauge 1440 HD-PVR Gaming Edition from Amazon (Amazon was the seller and it was new). I connected everything that needed to be connected and in the end, no luck! I've been playing with an HDMI cable but the HD-PVR only allows component (which is already included). I have it hooked up to my mac using EyeTV and it works perfectly fine, but there's a HUGE lag, so I can't play on my computer. I have a... -19" Vizio Razor LED HDTV -80GB PS3 (late 2008) -Hauppauge 1440 HD-PVR Gaming Edition -27" Apple iMac (late 2009) -EyeTV 3 I double and triple checked everything. I don't know if it's the composite cable (because I've heard that's sometimes the problem) or the TV itself. I doubt it's the TV because it worked when I had the composite and HDMI cables, but for some reason, the component doesn't work. I keep getting a blue screen that says "No Signal!". Please help and respond ASAP! Thanks in advance!

E260MV Overscan Help?

I have the Vizio e260mv hdtv and it's connected to my 2011 macbook air via hdmi cable through the mac's minidisplay port. However, not all the picture is shown on my TV screen, and I can't find the overscan setting on the TV, and it's grayed out in the mac display settings. HELP?

Would this be good for of gaming and casual use?
